CHP Officer Fundraiser Feeds Hundreds In Mother Lode
Jamestown, CA — Hundreds of Mother Lode residents had Mexican food for lunch or dinner yesterday in support of CHP officer Mike Remmel.
The C & C Taqueria in Jamestown opened its doors, donated the food, and recruited close to 20 volunteers to work for the day.
The family owned Taqueria went through a food supply that would normally stock both restaurants for 3 days in less than eight hours.
CHP officer Tom Wills says they raised $6, 690 thanks to C & C and the support of the community.
Wills says although the restaurant ran out of food before 7:00pm, people still donated until closing time at 8:00pm.
