Holman Reservoir Water Level Rising
Angels Camp, CA — Despite the current beautiful Mother Lode weather, there exists a potential Holman Reservoir overflow problem. Holman is a private reservoir.
The combination of the recent storms and normal everyday sewage has raised the reservoir level to within two feet of the spillway. The reservoir´s capacity is 227 acre feet of water … currently it´s at 203 acre feet.
If more rain is on the way to the Mother Lode and an overflow occurs, the city would be fined $350,000 by regional water regulators.
Officials say the level will drop with continued dry weather and public water conservation efforts.
