Susan Endter is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Social Worker ((ACHP-SW) at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She began her career in 1980 years ago after earning a bachelor’s degree in social work from Ithaca College in New York and a master’s degree in social work from the University of California Berkeley.
Endter became interested in social work in college when she volunteered with a community service agency. Her first experience with palliative care was when she managed the hospice program here in Sonora. When she moved into the acute care setting, she realized that hospital inpatients could also benefit from palliative care. She and other staff members who share Endter’s passion for palliative care have established the palliative care team at Sonora Regional Medical Center.
