Why is Tuolumne County wasting staff time and taxpayer money pursuing their so-called Climate Action Plan when it will make no difference? The General Plan should never have required it despite pressure from the State. There are already so many items crying for attention that actually impact their constituents and the local environment: homelessness, that has proven to be detrimental with trash, waste and fire danger; public safety that lacks the funding to pursue illegal pot farms and meth labs that also have a negative environmental impact; and roads, that quite simply are failing. These are the issues that the Board of Supervisors should be holding special meetings on.

A recent assessment from 2019 to 2022 of 8th grade skills in the basics of education, shows a decline of 26% in math skills and a drop of 31% in reading proficiency. Being unable to read at grade level means that all other learning will suffer as well.
According to reports, more than 2,600 officials at agencies from the Commerce Department to the Treasury Department, during both Republican and Democratic administrations, disclosed stock investments in companies while those same companies were lobbying their agencies for favorable policies. That amounts to more than one in five senior federal employees across 50 federal agencies that were reviewed.
