After this June the 7th and 8th grade Connections Visual and Performing Arts Academy will no longer have a 7/8 grade Charter school for the Connections program.
Therefore, this is our FINAL MAIN STAGE PERFORMANCE as a 7/8 Performing Arts Academy! We were hoping you could cover this in your publication as its a heart breaking time for our school but a wonderful final piece!
13 JR. – A Coming-of-Age Musical About Finding Where You Belong – Rated PG
April 16-25, Thursdays and Fridays 7pm, Saturday 2pm and 7pm
“Cool” is sometimes found where you least expect it in this heartfelt and hilarious coming-of-age musical about fitting in — and standing out.
Featuring a high-energy rock score by Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Last Five Years, The Bridges of Madison County) and a witty, laugh-out-loud book by Tony Award winner Robert Horn (Tootsie, Shucked) and Dan Elish (13), 13 JR. delivers a timeless story about the challenges of adolescence.
Evan Goldman’s world is turned upside down when he is uprooted from his fast-paced preteen life in New York City and moved to a small town in Indiana following his parents’ divorce. Suddenly the new kid at school, Evan must navigate the complicated social hierarchy of middle school and find his place in the popularity pecking order.
Will he secure a comfortable spot in the social food chain — or will he find himself on the outside looking in?
A true coming-of-age musical created especially for young performers, 13 JR. captures the humor, heart, and awkwardness of growing up, delivering a universal message about friendship, identity, and staying true to yourself.
