What: Artist Demonstration – for Students, Families, Kids
Well-known artist Kelly Telfer, known for his motorsport art, will be giving an Art Demonstration as a Kick-Off to 2nd Saturday Art Night. Passion, speed, and color dominate the artwork of Kelly Telfer, motorsports enthusiast and artist.
We are inviting individuals, families & children for an up-close, fun, and personal experience of “art in the making.”
This event will offer the opportunity to become Members of MLAA for only $25 for the entire family. Students and kids will be given a signed poster by Kelly, and each child will receive a membership card to MLAA events.
Telfer’s artwork is featured at the Petersen Automobile Museum in Los Angeles, and the LeMay-America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, WA. The Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, NE and the AACA Museum in Hersey, PA also display his work, as do gift shops, galleries and wineries throughout the west coast.
Telfer’s art encompasses more than machines. He captures the people and history of racing and car collecting in his most celebrated paintings. In March of 2022, Kelly’s portrait of Mario Andretti and his history in racing sold at auction through RM Sotheby’s for $138,000, a record for the work of a living motorsport artist.

2nd Saturday Art Night, is from 5 to 8 pm, Saturday April 12 right after the Demonstration. So …, family fun prior to enjoying the Sonora art & music festivities.
