The 48th annual Sonora Bach Festival is back with various events held thorough out the month of October inside of various venues. On Saturday October 26th at 12:30, Bach’s Brunch will be held at Oak Hill Presbyterian Church in Sonora. The Mother Lode String Quartet will perform the final concert of the year.

The Mother Lode String Quartet is made up of four musicians residing between Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties:

Esther Bulger is a violinist in Tuolumne County. She began playing violin around the age of 12 and never looked back.

Gary Osias began playing violin at the age of nine studying with William Pinchon (San Francisco Ballet).

Kayla Ireland, viola, grew up in St. Louis, Missouri but now resides in Dorrington, California. She grew up playing in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Cellist Alice Williams is a transplant from Atlanta, GA; she retired to Murphys, California, 20 years ago to enjoy the beauty and peace of this region after playing cello in the Bear Valley Music Festival each summer for many years.
