The Sierra Tuolumne Kennel Club will hold its annual all-breed dog shows and obedience trial on October 14th and 15th at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora. These are American Kennel Club approved events.
There will be approximately 450 dogs entered in the shows making up 99 different American Kennel Club recognized breeds. Some dogs will compete in conformation where they are judged against their respective breed standards trying obtain points towards their championship titles. Many breeds will be competing in the Obedience competitions, where they are judged on their training: their ability to heel on and off lead, stand, and stay when instructed. Additionally, the Junior Showmanship competition, children aged 9 -18 will exhibit their own dogs as they compete for prizes by displaying their skills in handling dogs.
In addition, we are offering Barn Hunt, Trick Dog testing, AKC Temperament testing, and Canine Good Citizen. Day of Entries will be accepted for these and no real training is necessary!
The shows start at 8:00 a.m. both days and run throughout the day. Come join us for a good time for the entire family, however please DO NOT bring your pets to the show.
Admission is free! Parking is $5 per vehicle.
