Buff Ball is between two rival schools, Bret Harte and Calaveras. Both schools will create a team of upperclassmen boys to compete against each other in the volleyball game. This event will be run by students, and even coached by our very own Varsity Volleyball players. This event will be held at Bret Harte High School Bob Bach Gymnasium on April 8th at 6:30pm, with an entrance fee of $8 for general admission and $5 for students. We are putting on this event to create a friendly and competitive atmosphere between the two rival schools to create long lasting memories.
Buff Ball has been an event put on by Leadership for several years, creating involvement for male students wanting a chance to play volleyball, while also letting them compete against their rivals. It will offer our students an opportunity to make great memories with friends and our school family. From an article where a high school team conducted a Buff Ball game and how their experience was very positive, stating that “It was an event aimed at fun and building friendships with classmates.”(Nate Shull). The friendships made from this wonderful activity could last a lifetime. A prize will motivate the students to win the event.
