The recent fires in Southern California, combined with the severe storm season, have significantly impacted U.S. blood supply donations, leading to shortages that could create a crisis for those who depend on life-saving blood. Blood donations are needed to help save lives. Whether you are a returning donor or a first-time donor, you can make a difference by donating blood on March 25th at the San Andreas Town Hall.
The Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) and Vitalant continue their partnership to collect life-saving blood. Your donation will help ensure that blood is available when it is needed, particularly during times of crisis. In addition to emergency situations, many individuals rely on regular blood transfusions to survive. By donating blood, you can play a vital role in supporting these individuals in their ongoing fight for life.
This month’s blood drive is on March 25th from 1:30 pm – 5:15 pm at the San Andreas Town Hall at 24 Church Hill Road, San Andreas. Preparing for your donation is simple, first make an appointment by going to donors.vitalant.org and use blood drive code SMFM399 or scan the QR code below. You can also call 877-258-4825 to make an appointment. On the day of your donation be sure to bring your photo I.D., eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water. Donors must be 16 years or older, (16 year old donors need to have a signed Vitalant parent consent form).
The Calaveras Community Foundation is honored to sponsor and support the Calaveras Community Blood Drives. The Foundation recognizes the critical importance of giving back to the community and has provided over $3.5 million in competitive grants, scholarships, and assistance since its inception in 2000.
