This is our annual “Airport Day”, an open house event that brings local residents to view our airport and gives them an opportunity to see our county from the air if they choose to take an airplane ride. Our last event was in 2019 so we are excited about our first post Covid event.
Our EAA motherlode chapter 484 in conjunction with the Motherlode Flying Club; both non profit organizations are sponsoring this event. We have full support and excitement for this event from our airport manager and Calaveras County officials who oversee airport operations. All profits made from this event will go to our EAA chapter and will be used towards our youth in aviation scholarship program. Our EAA chapter has been very successful in mentoring local high school students to a career path in aviation. Our flying club presently has a Calaveras HS scholar recipient rapidly advancing in his flight training and will soon become a private pilot.
