The Calaveras Community Foundation invites community members to kick off the new year with purpose by participating in its upcoming Blood Drive on January 27. This life-saving event offers a simple yet powerful way to help others and make a lasting impact in the community. CCF and Vitalant will host a community blood drive at the San Andreas Town Hall from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m on January 27th.

“Starting the year as a blood donor is a powerful way to turn good intentions into action,” said Paul Goldberg, Blood Drive Director for the Calaveras Community Foundation. “This blood drive is about neighbors helping neighbors and coming together to make a difference when it matters most.”

The Foundation encourages both first-time and regular donors to participate. Blood supplies are always in demand, especially at the beginning of the year, and every donor plays a vital role in ensuring hospitals have the resources they need.

Appointments are strongly recommended and advised to ensure donor safety and convenience. Donors can schedule an appointment by visiting www.donors.vitalant.org and using the Blood Drive Code SMFM399 or by calling Vitalant at 877-25-VITAL (877-258-4825).

Donor eligibility includes most healthy individuals aged 16 or older (16-year-olds need a signed parental consent form) who meet height and weight requirements. After scheduling your appointment online, please make sure to remember to bring a valid photo ID and eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water before arriving to donate.

The Calaveras Community Foundation is honored to sponsor and support the Calaveras Community Blood Drives. The Foundation recognizes the critical importance of giving back to the community and has provided over $3.7 million in competitive grants, scholarships, and assistance since its inception in 2000.  For more information or questions, contact Paul Goldberg, Calaveras Community Foundation Board Member and Blood Drive Coordinator, at 209- 481-1289.
