TAKE ME TO THE WATER: Songs of Healing and Hope
The Columbia College Community Chorus is excited to bring a free outdoor concert to the community after a long hiatus due to Covid – on Sunday, April 24, at 3:00 p.m. The program consists of music based on the theme of water, and is intended to offer hope and healing to all who attend. Various styles of music will be performed by the chorus, including classical, African American spirituals, gospel, and even a Disney song. A featured work on the program is the premiere performance of Daryl Hollinger’s original work, “The Ocean’s Song,” inspired by the composer’s visit to Seacliff State Beach. Tickets are not required for this free concert in the Carkeet Amphitheatre, located on the Columbia College campus directly across from the Oak Pavilion (gymnasium), with plenty of parking. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be inside the Oak Pavilion. For more information, contact Leslie Davis at 209-532-6604 or davisgold@gmail.com.
