In mid-April, Kathryn Zazueta or Kat as we all know her, started developing strange bruising and felt fatigued. After a few days, she went to the emergency room in Redding where she was flown to UC Davis and then UCSF. Hours later she was officially diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. She has started treatment in San Francisco and remains in the Hospital.
Kat is the daughter of Dave Porovich and Patti Spence Marciel. The Spence family has donated and supported the junior livestock programs for over 40 years. The store Spence Ranch Feed and Supply, has sponsored the Fair for decades. They have quietly without fanfare assisted kids and their families prepare for the annual fair.
Now it is our turn as a community to come together and assist this family who has done so much for the ag community. This year the Westberg family has donated a pig that will be sold in a virtual auction on May 16, 2021. All of the proceeds will directly benefit Kat and her family. The auction begins at 9:30 a.m. To register as a buyer go to sconlinesales.com.
