The Stanislaus National Forest will host an Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) open house Thursday, Feb. 5, 5-8 p.m. at the Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor’s Office. The public will be able to engage with recreation staff and provide input to develop grant applications for the California State Parks Off-Highway Motor Vehicle (OHV) Recreation Division Grant Program recreation funds.
The forest has three grant proposal drafts for consideration focusing on ground operations, law enforcement and restoration. Booths will be set up with representatives from each ranger district to share suggestions, answer questions, and make public comments.
The public will have a final opportunity for review and comments from March 3 to May 4 on the California State Parks OHV site: https://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1164 . Forest staff will consider the public comments received as they develop the final grant application for submission in June.
Community members are welcome to drop in any time between 5 and 8 p.m. on Feb. 5. The open house will be held at the Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor’s Office at 19777 Greenley Rd. Sonora, Calif.
