The Sonora Bach Festival 50th Season opens with a free outdoor event on October 4 from 2-5. The concert/event will be at Indigeny Reserve, 14679 Summers Lane, Sonora, and will feature alternating performances by Lucky CuZn Brass Band and vocal soloists from Opera Modesto. For more information go to the festival website at sonorabach.org; or call 209 559-6330. Tickets are free.
Carl Rudolph, coordinator for this event, said, “We are calling it an ‘event” because it is not just a concert but a celebration of our 50 years featuring unique music presented in an unusual setting. The grounds of Indigeny Reserve- with its park-like setting (and covered bridge!)- will help to make this a very special opening for the festival and our community.”
The program will be announced during the performance and be a selection of arias from opera and other musical genres. They will be performing from the balcony of the main building overlooking the grounds. Event director, Carl Rudolph, said, “We are thrilled to have representatives from Opera Modesto be a part of our festival. Not only will it be exciting, musically, but watching them perform ‘from the heights’ will be unique and thrilling.”
This year’s festival wishes to acknowledge the generous contribution of The Sonora Area Foundation.
