Youth Concert  — October 6 at 3:00 p.m.

Twenty youth finalists will perform their pieces on Sunday, October 6 at 3pm. Please come support our local youth scholarship winners. Each finalist will receive a $100 scholarship, along with the opportunity to perform on this special concert. This concert will be held at Chapel in the Pines in Twain Harte.

Support your friends, family and community as our own highly talented, local instrumentalists and vocalists present an exciting afternoon of chamber music of the Baroque and classical periods. Lovely music will be performed by people you know. An afternoon of classical music by Bach, Schumann, Scarlatti, Vivaldi, Telemann and more featuring fine local talent including Sheila Low, Bethany Winters, Linelle Marshall, Enoch Samraj, Esau Munoz, Tristan Perotti, Janet Telford, Sandra Betti, Mark Seiver and the Brook Moes Quartet featuring Brook Moes, Victoria Hare, Acadia Loverin and Jasmine Hwang.

A native of Los Angeles, Jason Jeffrey began piano lessons at an early age with Phyllis Duronslet after school. Jason graduated in the class of 2014 from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. His teachers included Professor Frank Wiens, Dr. Sonia Leong, and Dr. Rex Cooper. Some of his other teachers have included Dr. Sarah Chan of Cal State Stanislaus and Dr. Nina Scolnik of UC Irvine and Mark Steiner. He accompanies church and community choirs, including the Pinecone Performers in Groveland, CA. In 2017 he revived the Cathedral Concert Series at the Cathedral of the Annunciation, a series dedicated to showcasing local professional musicians and the beauty of music. He currently resides in Stockton with his wife Mari and enjoys traveling, watching Netflix, eating great food with friends and family, and spending time by the ocean in San Diego and Lake Tahoe.

The Mother Lode String Quartet is made up of musicians residing between Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties. Esther Bulger is a violinist in Tuolumne County. She began playing violin around the age of 12 and never looked back. Gary Osias began playing violin at the age of nine studying with William Pinchon (San Francisco Ballet). Kayla Ireland, viola, grew up in St. Louis, Missouri but now resides in Dorrington, California. She grew up playing in the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Cellist Alice Williams is a transplant from Atlanta, GA; she retired to Murphys, California, 20 years ago to enjoy the beauty and peace of this region after playing cello in the Bear Valley Music Festival each summer for many years.
