The 3 Forests Interpretative Association (3FIA) and the Stanislaus National Forest is pleased to host renowned California artists, naturalist and author Obi Kaufmann to the Stanislaus National Forest, Sunday, October 13 beginning at 4 p.m.
Supporting his latest book, The State of Fire, Why California Burns, Kaufman tackles this very current issue where he presents fire as a force of regeneration rather than apocalypse. Packed with Kaufmann’s signature watercolor maps and paintings, The State of Fire confronts one of California’s most pressing social and ecological challenges but offers a vision of the future founded in hope.
This very special event is free to members of the Three Forest Interpretive Association, $10 for non-members and is limited to 75 individuals. All proceeds generated from this event will go back to the association who then provides financial support of interpretive programming on the Stanislaus National Forest. Copies of Kaufman’s book will be available for purchase (there will be a 20 percent discount that day) at the event as well at Forest Ranger Station Book Stores.
