Bring your inquiries, bring your questions, bring your ideas, bring your concerns and come! Mother Lode Bonsai Club will host an open workshop on Saturday, September 5 for the public to meet club members and learn about raising these miniature trees. This event will be held in the San Andreas Central Library, 1299 Gold Hunter Road (off Mountain Ranch Road) in San Andreas. The monthly meeting starts at 10 a.m., which will be followed immediately by the mentor-led workshop where information on their selection, care and maintenance will be available.
If you have seen these “trees in a pot” before and wondered how they were miniaturized and living healthily in such small environments, the club will answer those questions and get you started in the living art of bonsai.
Everyone is invited to attend regardless of their levels of experience in this hobby. If available, bring your own specimen tree including nursery stock. A raffle will be held for bonsai materials and interested parties can also purchase members’ trees for sale there.
