Washington dysfunction continues as Senate Democrats rolled fellow Senator Joe Manchin of coal-rich West Virginia when they killed his proposal to speed up the moribund permitting process for energy projects that ostensibly would help future energy development and lower energy costs. Manchin had earlier agreed to vote for the Democrats’ climate, healthcare and tax proposal, in exchange for their support for his energy bill.
