Maryann’s Mexie Soup

I had the following ingredients at home and threw them together and came up with this unbelievably delicious soup.
You (of course) can change it up as you like!
Amount | Measure | Ingredients |

1 | tsp | soft butter |
2-3 | cloves | minced fresh garlic |
1 | 49 oz | chicken broth |
1 | 29 oz | white hominy |
2 | cups | cubed cooked chicken (or turkey) |
1/2 | jar | med. hot salsa |
1 | Tbsp | Gourmet Garden ‘Fresh Blends’ Mexican* |
1+ | tsp | cumin |
Black Pepper |
To prepare:
Melt a little butter in the crock pot. Add garlic allow to soften (about 15-20 min) on high. Pour in broth and add remaining ingredients. Cook till hot.
*I found this product (in a tube) in the produce section of the grocery store, they are a wonderful thing to keep in the fridge and will enhance many recipes. They come in a variety of flavors; I used the ‘Mexican’ for this soup.
Serve with freshly made corn tortilla chips on top if desired.
