Freedom From Smoking Class Begins in February

Are you ready to quit smoking? It helps to know that quitting is possible! There are now more ex-smokers than smokers in the United States – 52 million Americans have quit for good.

Adventist Health Sonora is offering the American Lung Association’s Freedom From Smoking® course beginning February 6. Classes will meet each Tuesday and one Thursday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. for seven weeks at Pulmonary Rehabilitation, located at 19747 Greenley Road in Sonora.

According to the American Lung Association, studies have shown that individuals who participate in Freedom From Smoking®  learn to address the physical, mental and social aspects of their addiction and are six times more likely to be smoke-free one year later than those who quit on their own.

The seven-week course costs $125 and is covered by most insurance plans. For those without insurance or whose insurance does not cover the class, scholarships and discounts are available.

For more information or to register for the course, please call 209-536-3726.
