Suspicious Package Not So Suspicious Afterall

Sonora, CA — That suspicious package in the Wal Mart parking lot proved to be nothing more than a box of trash that had been duct taped shut and then enclosed in a garbage bag that had been sealed with additional duct tape.
Upon arriving at the scene, Lt. Mark Stinson of the Sonora Police Department continued the clearing of the immediate area adjacent to the soft drink machine in front of the store and shut down two parking alleys.
Stinson then contacted the Calaveras County Bomb Squad. 40 minutes later the bomb squad was on the scene and quickly determined there was no reason to be concerned.
Wal Mart was never evacuated during the incident.
