Vegetation Fire Hits U.S. Forest Service Land
San Andreas, CA — A five acre vegetation fire has been reported near the Lumpston Bridge between the Tuolumne River and the Clavey River in the Stanislaus National Forest.
C.D.F. Dispatcher Dennis Laughon in San Andreas reports firefighters are attempting to gain access to the extremely isolated area of brush on Cottonwood Rd. through the Jawbone area. He adds there are no ground resources in the immediate area.
C.D.F. has responded with four engines, two strike teams of crews for a total of four crews, two airtankers, one helicopter and air attack. Also responding are Stanislaus National Forest and Madera-Mariposa units.
Due to the location of the fire, there appears to be no immediate danger to any individuals or structures.
