Sierra Conservation Center Will Host Training Course

Sponsored by:

Jamestown, Ca — Twenty-four fire fighters will have a unique opportunity next week to participate in a five day rescue course at the Sierra Conservation Center.

The event comes after two years of planning by Tuolumne County fire agencies and site development at the SCC fire training grounds. Sierra Conservation Center Fire Chief Jim Krussow says they are very pleased to be able to host the training course. Krussow notes that in the past, the closest sites were in Stockton and the Bay area.

The Course is entitled, “Rescue Systems 1,” and will help fire fighters learn how to deal with buildings that have been heavily damaged. The participants will be taught ways to work safely in a compromised environment. The course is State Fire Marshall´s Office approved.
