Amador County, CA – Amador County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested three people after a search of their vehicle turned up a popular snack box with a gun hidden inside.
An alert deputy on patrol on Tuesday, December 9, at around 6:30 p.m. spotted a pickup towing a car on a stolen trailer parked at a gas station in Buena Vista. The deputy called for backup before approaching the truck with three occupants inside, two men and a woman, all from Manteca and all convicted felons.
That allowed for a search of the truck, where a loaded semi-automatic handgun was found concealed inside a Cheez-It box in the bed of the pickup. Other items discovered were burglary tools, ski masks, suspected stolen bank cards, and drug paraphernalia.
The three suspects were arrested for possession of stolen property, multiple firearm-related charges, illegal narcotic charges, and several outstanding arrest warrants. Sheriff’s officials added, “The stolen trailer was recovered and is ready to be returned to its owner.”
