Calaveras High School Begins Work On New Football Field
San Andreas, CA — Just weeks after the announcement of a new playing field surface at Sonora´s Dunlavey field, a similar announcement has been made at Calaveras High School.
Work began Wednesday after the project was approved by the Calaveras Unified School District Board of Trustees.
East Construction in Jamestown submitted the only bid for preparation work. The company has begun the process of removing about eight inches of topsoil, building the drainage system and putting in the aggregate on which the artificial turf will lie.
The playing surface is expected to last 16 years before it needs to be replaced. Officials expect the project to be completed by graduation, which is June 3rd.
