Environmentalists Dissatisfied With Yosemite Restoration Project

Environmentalists are up in arms over the recent completion of the $13.5 million Yosemite Falls restoration project.
The project was dedicated by a host of officials and dignitaries Monday. The project removed several old buildings at the site, widened trails and enlarged the viewing area.
The restoration also features new restrooms, a picnic area and a new parking lot. However, a spokesperson with the group Friends of Yosemite Valley says the project “degrades the natural environment.”
Park officials defend the project, saying the renovation was long overdue.
