Pigs Close Highway

An unusual accident on Northbound Highway-99 outside of Merced this morning sent pork flying. A semi-hauling a load of live pigs crashed just after 4 o´clock. The CHP shutdown the highway while up to 30 of the animals that survived the wreck were rounded up. The driver suffered minor injuries. All northbound lanes were reopened at 6 AM.
