National Weather Service Warns Of Possible Thunderstorms

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — Weather forecasters are warning of possible heavy rains or thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service says a low pressure system off the coast of central California will help to cause isolated rain and thundershowers in the Mother Lode mountains, as well as the San Joaquin Valley, Sacramento Valley and counties to the north.

The forecast indicates that rain may be light throughout the day with increasing potential toward late afternoon.

The weather service warns residents to be ready for rapidly changing conditions, with the possibility of brief heavy rain, lightning and strong gusty winds.

Drivers are reminded that the rainfall may also cause slippery road conditions.
