CDF Continues To Seek Lightning Caused Spot Fires
Sonora, CA — CDF officials continue their surveillance of the local wildlands in search of lightning caused spot fires after Monday night´s storm.
Karry Hubbard of CDF says it´s not uncommon for vegetation to smolder for several days after a storm and then flare up as conditions get warmer and dryer.
Fire Fighters spent yesterday scouring the area and located eight small blazes. One was located near Lyons Lake, the rest were in Calaveras County.
Hubbard says extra equipment remains staged at Twain Harte, however the Arnold station is back to its normal complement.
Hubbard says if no new fires are found by noon today, all engines will be returned to their respective stations.
