Board To Make Final Decision On Copper Project
San Andreas, CA – The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors is set to consider the Copper Mill project, which was recently approved by the Planning Commission.
Monday, the board will decide whether Castle and Cooke can build its proposed retail/residential center in Copperopolis.
The project requires a general plan amendment and zone change. Also, Castle and Cooke is asking the county to enter into a binding development agreement, ensuring its right to build the project.
And also Monday the board will hold a study session with the U.S. Forest Service on its Forest Fuels Management Plan. In an effort to reduce fire risk and boost the local lumber economy, the five-year plan calls for an increase in timber harvesting.
