Water Board Lifts Cap On Connections
Murphys, CA — A handful of builders in the Forest Meadows Subdivision have a green light to build from Calaveras County Water District.
The Board of Directors met yesterday to vote on four exceptions to the district´s mandatory cap on water and sewer connections. The cap was passed this summer when it was discovered the district´s treatment plant was at capacity.
Interim General Manager Larry Diamond said the actual use of the facilities will occur over a number of years and will allow the district time to expand.
Meanwhile the district has applied for a permit to put treated water into the Stanislaus River.
