Sweet Teeth Indulged at Chocolate Festival
Stacked chocolate wafers in a cup? Squeezable pudding you don´t have to keep cold?
It was a candy-lover´s dream in Oakdale this weekend, at the Chocolate Festival.
Beverly from Mr. Fudge in Palm Springs said the age-old debate of Fudge With Nuts versus Supreme Fudge Without Nuts is still going strong: “The Supreme and the With-Nuts… we sell equal amounts.”
Justin Kieros explained his reasons for attending…
“…because I can fill up on chocolate. Chocolate´s good. I like the pudding because it´s creamy and stuff, and it tastes good.”
Truffles, strawberry-brownie parfaits, and even non-perishable chocolate pudding in single-serving pouches were on hand for the big event.
In addition, personal chef Connie Biaggini demonstrated that chocolate isn´t necessarily sweet. Her concoction of spicy chicken mole was sampled by many over the weekend. The recipe includes chicken broth, chipotle chile, and unsweetened chocolate.
