Tuolumne, CA – A pause in paving work gives Tuolumne residents a reprieve from lengthy delays.
The Tuolumne County Public Works began repaving Cedar Street on Wednesday, July 1st, and Thursday, July 2nd, with a full road closure, causing up to 20-minute delays for residents living along the roadway, as reported here.
Road officials decided to pause the work for the 4th of July weekend, reopening the road to all traffic from Friday, July 3, 2026, through Sunday, July 5, 2026.
Crews will resume the work on Monday, July 6, and Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The full closure of Cedar Street runs from Baker Avenue to Maple Avenue. Residents will continue to have access to their driveways and experience delays of up to 20 minutes. Road officials report that emergency responders will continue to have access throughout the duration of the closure.
