Chemical Bill Passes In Committee

Area assemblyman Dave Cogdill says an assembly bill placing stricter limits on the sale of certain chemicals used in illegal drug manufacturing passed in committee this week.
Cogdill says the legislation will give law enforcement more tools in dealing with the Meth problem in California.
The bill — sponsored by the Department of Justice — will add iodine to the list of controlled chemical substances requiring a report with the D-O-J.
Meth producers have learned where to go and how much iodine to buy without breaking current law.
