Sonora, CA — A storefront in the Crossroads Shopping Center on Sanguinetti has changed to promote the opening of a new store named The Bargain Depot. The location has been vacant since the Joann Store closed in February of 2025.
The owners have not picked an opening date yet but they are hoping to open by August 1 and are currently working to fill the shelves with merchandise. The business is family-owned along with two other locations, including The Wright Depot in Escalon, which the family has managed since 2014.
Items that the store will carry besides food, snacks and candy include furniture, rugs, pool, lake and outdoor items like kayaks, floaties, and lawn games. Other items include health and beauty, overstock and seasonal items.
The store’s mascot is a bear, as seen in the images of the storefront. The bear is not related to Summerville High School’s mascot.
