Sonora, CA – Funds donated by a local casino during a Mother Lode Roundup event earlier this year have been awarded to the Tuolumne County Special Olympics TC Ravens.
After being nominated by Tuolumne County Sheriff David Vasquez and the Sheriff’s Posse to be the recipient of this year’s 2026 Motherlode Rodeo’s Calcutta, a bid of $3,000 from Black Oak Casino Resort in Tuolumne sealed the deal. According to TC Ravens officials, “The casino outbid everyone… This gracious donation will help us put on our two remaining local regional tournaments.”
Those tournaments include the Golf at Teleli Golf Course event on Wednesday, September 11, 2026, and Softball at Standard Park on September 20, 2026.
The group also stated, “Thank you to Sheriff David Vasquez, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse, and, of course, Black Oak Casino.”
