Columbia, CA – Paving already underway will close a Columbia roadway, and travelers can expect a detour and possible lengthy delays until the middle of next week.
Tuolumne County Public Works officials report that the work requires a full closure of Columbia Street from Yankee Hill Road to Parrotts Ferry Road. The paving began on Monday, August 17, 2026, and runs until Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents, emergency response vehicles, and personnel will continue to have access to the road, though delays of up to 20 minutes may occur throughout the closure. Drivers are asked to slow down and follow all construction signs and/or traffic control personnel in the cone zone.
