Sonora, CA — The CHP is releasing details about a crash that occurred on Sunday afternoon during the one o’clock hour at the intersection of Fairview Lane and Stockton Street in Sonora.
A CAL Fire pickup truck driven by Thomas Fraser was responding southbound on Stockton Street to an incident with its emergency lights activated. The CHP says that 71-year-old Lori Cook of Sonora was stopped at the intersection of Fairview Lane and Stockton Street in a 2026 Subaru and pulled into the intersection. Cook’s vehicle was then struck by the oncoming CAL Fire pickup truck. The emergency truck then hit another vehicle that was stopped on Fairview Lane, a 2011 Honda Pilot driven by 30-year-old Daenara Watson of Sonora.
Fraser and Watson suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Cook sustained minor injuries and was transported by air ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
The CHP adds, “All of the involved parties were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor.”
