The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Mother Lode, the entire San Joaquin Valley and the foothills of Mariposa County, through 10 PM tonight (Thursday).
The high temperatures are forecast to range from 97 to 103 degrees.
This will equate to widespread Moderate HeatRisk, with areas of Major HeatRisk.
Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses, especially to anyone without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration.
Air conditioning is necessary; fans and open windows at night will not be enough. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
