Dynamite Disposal in Ponderosa Hills

A mandatory evacuation was ordered last night in the Ponderosa Hills area, between Twain Harte and Tuolumne.
60 sticks of dynamite were found in the afternoon yesterday, and the bomb squad was called from Calaveras County to assess the situation.
Tuolumne County Sheriff´s deputies and the California Highway Patrol also closed Stagg Circle, Deer Haven, Canyon View to Hill View, and Misty Lane around the area of Ponderosa Hills.
Sergeant Roger Dittburner says the dynamite was successfully burned and the roads were reopened, and the evacuation order lifted last night.
