Equine West Nile Cases Decrease
Sponsored by:
For the first time since mid-July, the California Department of Food and Agriculture reports no new cases of West Nile virus in horses.
When the state began the weekly reports, there were 30 cases in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
Now, there are 533 cases in 31 counties, and 227 horses have died.
Officials expect a lull over the winter, but urge horse owners to have their animals vaccinated.
