State Job Growth Strong
California´s job sector showed signs of strong growth in October with the addition of 43,500 payroll jobs and a decline in the number of job seekers.
A survey of employers indicates more than 14.6 million people held payroll jobs last month.
The figures were released today by the state´s Employment Development Department.
Farm workers and the self-employed are not included in the survey.
The employment surge is in line with U-S data, which indicates the nation added 337-thousand payroll jobs in October.
A separate survey of households also bodes well, suggesting 70-thousand more people in California held jobs last month than in September.
The survey indicated more than 16.7 million people held a job in October, for a gain of 386-thousand over the same month a year ago.
