Conflicting Propositions Both Supported By Voters

Sponsored by:

A new Field Poll shows voters are favoring each of two conflicting initiatives on next month´s ballot.

One would establish open primary elections. The other would keep the current partisan system.

If they both pass, the one with the most votes win.

Proposition 62 would let voters pick from every candidate on the primary ballot – regardless of party registration.

The top two candidates would face a runoff in the general election – even if that pits two nominees from the same political party.

Proposition 60 would keep the current partisan primary system by sending the top candidate from each political party to the general election.

Proposition 62 is leading so far – but many voters remain undecided.
