Wildfire At New Melones Burns 30 Acres

Fire units, CDF helicopter and air tankers battled a grass fire at the shores of New Melones Reservoir near Jamestown Sunday evening. Fire grew to about 30 acres in size and was burning on a peninsula. The blaze is in the area of French Flat Road and Shell Road and was first reported just after 5 p.m. Sunday evening. Expect to see smoke in that area. Crews will be on scene for at least 4 hours doing mop-up.
