Charges Not Dropped for Fire Chief

A Calaveras County Superior Court judge denied a request Friday to drop sexual-assault charges against San Andreas fire Chief Erie Donald Young.
The criminal charges that Young faces are tied to incidents that allegedly occurred between Jan. 1 and June 30, of 1988.
The alleged victim, now 33, testified during the March preliminary hearing that Young raped her about 20 times during that time period.
