Wildland Fire Burning Near Copperopolis

A wildland fire is burning in the Highway 4 area of Calaveras County near Copperopolis.
The fire is on Chuckwagon Road in the Diamond XX subdivision. First units on the scene estimate the fire to be about seven acres in size and spreading in grass and oak woodland vegetation.
Fire officials say another fire reported burning off Waverly Road and Highway 4 was unfounded.
Aircraft from CDF Columbia Air Attack base have been sent to battle the fire.
