U.C. Merced Wins Ruling
U.C. Merced has won a court victory over an environmental challenge to its new Central Valley campus. A state appeals court in Fresno says the university properly assessed impacts of its new learning center.
Republican Congressman George Radanovich from Mariposa was pleased with the ruling. He said in a written statement released Tuesday “It is good to see the spirit of the university not be held back by a few narrow-minded special interest groups.”
The San Joaquin Raptor Resource Center argued that university officials didn€™t thoroughly evaluate impacts on air pollution, water and growth.
A lawyer for the group says there is no decision yet about challenging the ruling.
