Solo Crash Injures Three
A Sonora woman is in critical condition at a Modesto hospital following a solo car crash Saturday morning.
The highway patrol says 44-year-old Yonok Spaulding sustained major injuries when the car she was a passenger in was ripped apart in the crash.
Her daughter 22-year-old Sandra Spaulding was distracted while driving west on Highway 120 near Green Springs Road just before 10:30 a.m. She allowed her Nissan Sentra to drift off the road and slam into boulders at 65 miles-per-hour. Her mother was in the front passenger seat. A third passenger, 18-year-old Ryan Fife of Columbia, was also injured.
CHP says all were wearing seat belts which kept them from being ejected from the vehicle.
